Oh, Darling...
…how many months has it been since I’ve felt your embrace? Felt you move underneath me, with nothing more than a soft purr?
Sure, we’d meet briefly, when I had the time, mainly out of concern for your health and vigor. I’d gaze for a few moments on your blonde radiance, anticipating the advent of spring when it would no longer be necessary to keep our relationship under wraps, away from the gaze of others.
It has been a long, harsh winter, taunting me with its persistence and its power to force separate lives upon us. But it is losing its grip, and I will come for you soon, my sweet mistress.
Aren’t you happy? Aren’t you grateful I have such a liberal and understanding wife?

I am.

You have a wonderful car, Joe. I would love to take a ride in that ! I have a 2003 Toyota Spider but I am thinking about trading it in...any suggestions ?
Jean:
Thanks for visiting, and thank you for your kind comments on my car.
It's a 2001 Honda S2000 with just 23,500 miles on it. I drive it only about 1,600 to 3,000 miles per year, and only between April and November, and never in the rain! She's never seen a snowflake....My family laughs at me. But I love it ("her") and it makes me smile.
I'm not a car snob, I hope; I think the most important criteria for owning a roadster is to have fun, no matter what the model. The MR2 is a fun car, as are most, if not all, two-seat convertibles.
All said, if you were to trade the Toyota in, and were interested in an S2000, I would suggest looking for a used one, preferably driven only in summer and between the model years 2001-2003. The newer models (2004 - ) have "tamer' engines (2.2 liters) versus the higher revving, "grr" engines of earlier models (2.0 liters). This makes the older S2000s more aggressive and fun to drive, in my opinion.
Ask a Honda dealer to keep an eye out for you; that's what I did. You'll have to be patient, though.
Of course, there are other great, fun cars, too: the new Mazda Miata is very good, and you could probably get a good buy on a used model as well. The Pontiac Solstice is an aesthetically cool car; the jury's still out on performance and quality. I think moderate mileage 2001-2003 BMW Z3's can be had for under $25,000US. But, again, regardless of what you might buy as a used roadster, look for one that was somebody's "toy" as opposed to an everyday car someone drove.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you want more information.
Thanks, again, for dropping by.
Joe-
I work with your Mom and Dad, and have never seen parents so happy that their son has a mistress! I enjoyed your writing, and you should be very proud of your parents, they are great people!

Sweet ride! There can't be two of those cars. Did I see that car parked in a driveway in Slingerlands, NY on Sunday, July 27th around 2pm?
Hey, thanks, Jack! Honda S2000s are not that rare of a car; however, I think yellow ones are a bit few and far between. In fact, I've never seen another, although my son says they are a dime a dozen in southern California.
That wasn't my car in Slingerlands. Mine was safely ensconced in her garage Sunday afternoon in Vermont, due to the threat of rain!
Thanks for dropping by, and for commenting.
Hey Joe,
Where you goin' with that gun in your hand? :)
An odd wrinkle in the fabric of the Universe finds me, another 'Joe Fusco', in contact with you this evening. I'm from upstate NY (near Albany) and also have a "mistress" roadster in my garage! (this JoeFusco garage is located in California however.)
Nice to meet you!
